This morning we were lucky enough to have a visit from Mr Bird, a retired Army veteran. Mr Bird is a second generation soldier who served our country for over 15 years and who's father fought in Vietnam.
Over his years of service Mr Bird received many medals/badges of honor. Photographed above are also some of his fathers medals and other medals he has collected over the years. All up Mr Bird has over 2000 medals in his collection.
Dwayne & Nash (from 1/2F)
Mr bird bought along some dehydrated food, and cooking utensils, similar to the ones he used while serving in the Army. Dwayne and Nash are pretending to light a stove. The "stove" would stand over some coal from a fire and the flat element would heat up the food placed in a pot on top. The pot is the shallow rectangular dish in the bottom right hand corner.
Here Isaac and Jett are testing out some of the gear Mr Bird carried while on tour. When filled, this small pack weights between 5 - 10 kilograms! Thank you so much Mr Bird for coming in and sharing with us and thank you for your service.
We may not be great at taking selfies here in 2W but we sure know how to have fun!
What a great first day 2W! Talk about jam packed!
We read stories, explored our new look classroom, did some Handwriting, visited the ANZAC & Wartime display and heard some amazing stories from Mr Bird an Army veteran, we boogied to Go Noodle, completed maths challenges to work out secret info about Miss Woodcock, read some more, assigned jobs for this week on our new imoji (iphone & emoji combined) chart, selected new table names (shout out to Orange Relish, Teal Zeal, Suddenly Sapphire & Calypso Berry), learnt a new memory verse (Ephesians 4:32), had a visit from Mrs Frances... somehow in all that we even managed to squeeze in Recess and Lunch!
Sleep well 2W! Can't wait to see you all again on Wednesday!
Hi! Just a quick post to say how thrilled I am to be a part of the team at MACC and working with Stage 1. Over the next few days I will be updating the blog with more info about myself and all the fun things we have to look forward to in 2W! I have begun meeting parents and the extended 2W community and am very excited to meet many more families at next weeks Parent Teacher Interviews.
I hope over the holidays you received my post card! If for some reason this got lost in the mail, I'll repost a pic below 😊 Miss Woodcock ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you to all of our wonderful students and families for your support of Missions Day.
Our lolly buffet stall was a big hit and went really well.
We had a wonderful variety of lollies and treats available thanks to all the kind and generous donations from families in our class and also class 4E, who we shared the stall with.
Thank you for making a difference and supporting those less fortunate than ourselves! What a wonderful community we belong to and it is at times like this that our amazing MACC community really shines. Thanks also to our parent helpers who lent a hand on the day to help things run smoothly, your help and assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to all of our families who came to watch and join in the fun.

Tahlia and Daniel welcomed us all to the special Easter Chapel Service...
Pastor Dan Warren shared a message with us about Jesus dying on the cross and how Easter is so important because it celebrates Jesus' sacrifice and love for each and every one of us. He challenged us to think about this question: Who do we say Jesus is in our lives?
The secondary choir performed a special item of the Old Rugged Cross and did such a lovely job performing it for us...
We wish all of our wonderful 2G students and their families a very blessed and happy Easter. I hope you all know how loved and special you are this Easter and always.
