BRAVO!!!!!

BRAVO 2W!!!
What a fabulous effort and performance at the Primary Assembly on Thursday!
On Friday the students received a little congratulatory gift to celebrate all their hard work and bravery in performing at Assembly!
Hats off to you 2W! You are Awesome!

This pack contained:
- a star Post it note: because 2W were the STAR of the show!
- a pencil: because they did a "sharp" performace!
- a fantale lolly: because Miss Woodcock is 2W's biggest FAN!
a freddo: a sweet treat, for a SWEET performace
.... but mostly just because everyone loves chocolate!

Just a tip- if your child would like their 2W shirt to last as long as possible gently HAND WASH ONLY! The paint is acrylic and the names were written in permanent marker, but the less you wash it the longer it will remain in tact!

Chillax for Sport!

It was farrrr to hot to run around for sport on Wednesday so we went into the air conditioning of the Middle Room and did some Chillax vidoes from Go Noodle!
See below some awesome action shots!

Final visit with our Year 12 Buddies!

This week we spent some time with our Year 12 buddies! This was the last time we will see them before their exams! We have had such a great year getting to know them, spending time playing games and hanging out! Although we are sad to see them go, we are so excited for this next chapter in their lives. Please join us in praying for them over the next few weeks as they cram in as much study as possible and sit their exams early next term. To give them some encouragement (and a bit of sugar) we made them a card which had chocolate and lollies stuck to it! See a pic below :)

Slinky Apples

Following last week's Apple on Top STEM activity we had an abundance of apples to eat!
There was only one way to enjoy these!...
SLINKY APPLES!

Special mention must go to Harry (and rest of the Simpson family) for playing Postman/Delivery boy and bringing the slinky machine back from the South Coast!

Cat In The Hat!

To conclude our day we made Cat In The Hat masks!

Don't we look CAT-tivating!!!
Some might say, CLAW-some!!!
What a MEOW-nificent job we did!!!

STEM Activities based on Dr Seuss

Following today's parade 2W returned to class and participated in some fun STEM activities related to Dr Seuss books.

The first activity was based on Cat in the Hat.
In groups students used cups and paper to create the tallest tower. Each group received identical materials:
20 cups

5 pieces of assorted paper & cardboard
1 pair of scissors

Groups could use these materials in any way.
Check out some great photos below.

Thank you Mrs Manlo for joining us for this activity and helping us!

Thanks to Josh's Granddad for sharing his wisdom and helping us!

An action shot of Mrs Fletcher getting in on the action!

Mr Brennan watching on, giving advise and helping this team succeed!

It's not just the children that enjoyed today's activity.
Here's a pic of Mikayla's Grandma giving it a go!
Mrs Goodyear creating a large base with the cups and adding some cardboard as support... She might be onto something here!

Based on the book "Ten Apples Up On Top" we then tried to stack APPLES!
This was much harder than the cups. Some great conversations were had discussing why this was, including the bumpy base, the pointy top and the weight if the apples.
We then added some play dough to the list of "Approved Materials!"

Mrs Goodwin busy rolling play dough, used to hold the apples together!

Thanks to all parents who popped in throughout the morning's STEM activities!
It was so great to have you with us. A+ for your efforts and creativity during the lesson!

Book Parade

We had a wonderful day celebrating Book Week with this mornings Parade and Morning Tea.
Thank you to our wonderful families for your attendance and for creating amazing costumes with your children.
An extra special thank you must go to our Parent Liaison team and all parents who helped out with the Mad Hatters morning tea. The day would not have been half as much fun without you and your incredible support!

See below some great pics of 2W in their amazing costumes!

BOOK FAIR

On Wednesday 2W had a wonderful time browsing in this years Book Week, Book Fair.
There are picture books and chapter books, fictional stories and factual stories, books for the young and books for the old, books, books, books!
Thank you Mrs Cranston and Mrs Turner for helping us pick out some interesting reads.
The Book Fair is a part of our Book Week celebrations. Each year the Book Fair is open following the Book Parade for parents and students. In the lead up to the Fair students are able to come and browse and select their favourite items, add these to a "Wish List" and take home a Scholastic Catalogue. The Book Fair sold out extremely quick today so if you missed out on purchasing a participator book, or may not have been able to attend, the catelogue is the perfect way to still have a new great read!
